How It Works
The Physics of Cooling Evaporation Think about what happens when you get out of the bath or swimming pool. You feel cooler because your body is wet. Wonder why? It is evaporation on your skin that creates a cooling effect. When water or sweat evaporates from the surface of your skin, it removes excess heat and cools you. This is actually due to a principle in physics which goes like this: To convert water from a liquid to a vapor, it takes a certain amount of heat called the "heat of vaporization." This heat energy increases the speed of the water molecules so that they can escape into the air as vapor. As the heat is utilized to create vapor, a cooling effect is left behind.

How Chillee Gear Works Chillee Gear is the most innovative line of clothing and apparel in the evaporative cooling technology field today. Our “patent pending” technique allows us to dramatically expand the products and usefulness of the garments that can be made. We can provide you with products that our competition cannot touch. Let’s take a look at the technique that makes this possible.
Some of the comparative products use the same non-toxic super absorbent polymer that we use, but the difference is how it is dispersed throughout the product. In the various neckbands that are on the market, the polymer is basically dumped into a sewn tube and closed. This causes various problems, slow re-hydration, leaching of the resulting gel, and a slimy feel on the outside of the product. Ten years of research has gone into the development of these products. This research has resulted in a method that allows us to evenly disperse the active ingredient - the super absorbent polymer throughout the garment. Whatever shape or size it is! This enables us to not only make the products we make, but it allows us to be open to suggestions from you, our most valued customer, on new designs and products that can be custom fashioned and smartly designed to provide you with cool comfort and moisture management.
A super absorbent polymer is embedded within the fabric of each garment or accessory that we make. When soaked in cold water and allowed to experience evaporation due to the surrounding environment, a cooling effect, along with a sweat wicking process, begins to take place. This results in a cool garment that remains cool as long as your core body temperature does not warm the product and evaporation of the moisture in the product takes place. The garments are made to be worn near an artery. The cool temperature transfers to the blood within the artery. This in turn begins to cool the entire body due to the cooler blood circulating.
Cooler blood results in many benefits; less chance of heat related illness, higher productivity, increased alertness and awareness, and greater comfort in high heat conditions.
