How do Chillee Gear™ products work?
Chillee Gear™ products work on the principal of “evaporative cooling”. Evaporative cooling works by evaporating water into the air-stream. This principle is best illustrated in a personal way by that chilling effect you feel when you come out of a swimming pool and a breeze blows across your body! This chilling effect is caused by the evaporation of the water from your body. Because Chillee Gear™ products absorb so much water, and the evaporation rate is so slow, the result is a cool gel-like substance that remains cool for several hours. Our products efficiency can be diminished by five different factors. Those factors are humidity, body type, environment temperature, the amount of cooling gel in a particular garment, and the level of physical activity. When you sweat and there is a breeze it becomes "cool" because the air flowing over your body is evaporating the sweat. It is nature’s way of keeping us cool during hot weather or physical exertion.
So, the simple explanation is, evaporative cooling in Chillee Gear is nothing more than creating a “cool media” i.e., wet clothing and the resulting gel, and allowing it to evaporate. Because the gel’s moisture evaporates so slowly, the garment remains cool as long as the moisture is allowed to evaporate. Again, the five factors will determine how long it will be before you need to “re-charge” the garment or accessory.
Are the products safe?
Chillee Gear™ uses 100% cotton for the outer material. The inner “active layer” is made of several proprietary materials. The super absorbent polymer used in the garment that is responsible for giving the products the cooling effect is very safe. It is the exact same substance used in baby diapers! The worst thing that can happen is if somehow the garment became ruptured and the gel became exposed; for instance, if a dog chewed it up. The gel should not be ingested but it is not toxic. It can, however, cause a MILD skin irritation if it is exposed to human skin for very long periods. This irritation is similar to diaper rash; nothing serious, but this is highly unlikely to happen. If you happen to come in contact to the gel inside, just wash it off with water. Chillee Gear makes products that are safe for people; both young and old. We are confident that you will have no health related problems as a result of using any of our products.
What advantages does Chillee Gear™ products offer over other products now available?
Well, there are several. These advantages are all related to the patent pending process used to create many of our products. How fast does it work?
To hydrate the product fully it usually takes a minimum of 10 minutes and no more than 30 minutes regardless of the size of the product.
To re-hydrate the product once it is completely dry. the time does not change.

How do the products help with my heavy perspiration?
Because of the even distribution of the absorbing materials, we can design one-of-a-kind products that have never been seen. Some of these products are designed specifically for the most efficient sweat absorption products known today! Any of our products that are worn across the forehead serve as a sweatband also and can be worn dry if the cooling effect is not needed. The shirts and shorts can be worn to sleep in and they will completely absorb ALL of your night perspiration -even extreme perspiration caused by night sweats brought on by menopause. We are very excited about the introduction of a pair of pajamas specifically designed for women experiencing night sweats.
How do you care for the products and clean them?
Hand wash using a mild detergent and hang dry in a well-ventilated area. Be careful to hang in a well-ventilated area and allow the product to hang in such a way that it has both sides exposed to the air for water evaporation to insure mildew does not form.
Can the products be machine-washed?
Yes they can be, on your machine’s gentle cycle, but it is not recommended. During the spin cycle, the force that other clothing or just the force generated on the product, can cause the cells inside to rupture. The spin cycle can also cause the gel substance to push thru the fabric and lessen the life of the product. It is recommended to hand wash the products and then hang dry.
Can I put the products in the dryer?
Yes, but it will not get anywhere near dry. If you have a flat wire stationary accessory that does not tumble the product, then the dryer will dry the outer fabric faster but it will not cause the water to evaporate from the embedded gel. Also, if tumble-dried, you run the risk of rupturing the cells in any particular product.
How long does it take to dry when you hang it as recommended?
Depending on the product the drying time varies. The more gel, the longer it takes to dry. Some products (like shirts and shorts) can take up to a week to dry completely. The lighter products (like headbands, neckbands, etc.) allow about two or three days to dry completely.
Can the products (shirts, shorts, etc.) be dry-cleaned?
Yes, you may dry clean the garments - BUT you must be sure that they use PERT as a cleaning agent, which contains no water. The cleaning agent can not contain ANY WATER.
When will I need to replace it?
When used and cared for properly each product should last many years.
Does it work on animals, like my dog?
We have used the neckbands on dogs and it works well. We are currently working on several products that will accommodate animals. We plan to launch an entire line of products that will help many types of animals, from domestic pets to livestock.
Is there a guarantee for Chillee Gear products?
Of course! I will state “The Chillee Gear™ Guarantee” here:
“If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 30 days (unless otherwise stated) and we’ll refund the full amount.”
What is that gel stuff inside after it has been soaked?
The gel that results from soaking is nothing more than the super absorbent polymer. It is originally in a powder form but when it is wet it begins to absorb water in quantities many times its own weight. Depending on the type, some can absorb up to 1200 times their weight in water. When fully hydrated, the polymer becomes jelly-like and feels gel like when enclosed within the garment.
Can I purchase Chillee Gear™ products in stores?
Chillee Gear™ has given rights to a few companies to offer items that fill a specific need for the majority of their clientele. We do offer distributorships to select business owners who have a greater need for one or more of our products. It is strictly a business-to-business agreement. There is, however, opportunity for individual distributors providing their needs can be shown and meet our negotiable volume requirements for distributorship.

Do the products come with instructions and related information?
Absolutely! Each product comes with full descriptive instructions for use, cautions, and any disclaimers usually associated with medical use products.
Are other companies making a competitive product?
There are companies that make things like headbands, neckbands, bandanas, and skullcaps, however, NONE of them offer the Chillee Gear™ patent pending design that makes our product perform better, look better, and last longer. Not to mention that none of them offer the variety of products that you will find at the Chillee Gear™ web-store. We sell online, or by calling and placing your order with one of our representatives.
